The Border Archaeological Society has been active since 1997 with members from Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. Berwick upon Tweed is in the centre of this beautiful area and is the home of BAS. We try to address all aspects of archaeology, right back to the last Ice age, and this is reflected in our lectures, nine per year. Many of our speakers come from far afield and are highly specialised and qualified in their own study.

Our area offers, Mysterious Prehistoric Rock Art, Iron Age Hill Forts, the Devil's Causeway Roman Rroad, the rich culture of the Anglo-Saxon, mediaeval, second world war and industrial archaeological history.
